Many people experience a reduced quality of life due to OSA and snoring that can have problematic effects on sleep and health. Changes in your airway during sleep characterized as OSA commonly produce snoring as a symptom. When your airway becomes more slender than usual your airflow is diminished when you breathe. The soft tissue in your airway can vibrate (this is when snoring occurs), or it may collapse entirely in which case you’ll temporarily stop breathing. An Obstructive Apnea is defined as when your soft tissue collapses, and it can last for more than ten seconds. Throughout the night your airway can go from open, to narrowed, to collapsed periodically. We will get you on a path to sleeping well which will improve your quality of life.

From your initial consultation to your last follow-up appointment, SleepAlliance will be with you every step of the way, ensuring you have the best possible outcome to treat your sleep apnea and snoring. We are your source for treatment from analysis to therapy. SleepAlliance will guide you with an easy process and having you sleeping again for your overall health and well being.

Home sleep testing is widely accepted and is a comfortable, more cost-effective alternative to using a sleep lab.A final report is typically sent to your primary care physician within one week of receiving the completed home sleep test.

How Oral Appliance Therapy (OAT) Works

We entirely center all of our efforts in utilizing Oral Appliance Therapy to treat snoring and sleep apnea.

Like an athletic mouthpiece or retainer, oral appliances and devices are often non-invasive to wear. By softly bringing your lower jaw, oral appliances and devices open your airway. Many patients find that this slight shift in jaw position is able to stop both their obstructive sleep apnea and snoring, which translates into a happier and more productive life due to better sleep.

Oral Appliances and PAP Partner

We use several different types of adjustable oral appliances including:

These appliances are popular and highly effective alternatives to Constant Positive Airway Pressurization (CPAP).

Coordination of OAT with Your Medical Doctor and Medical Insurance Carrier

If you’ve received a diagnosis of obstructive sleep apnea or suffer from snoring, we’re here to help. Dr. Odom will examine your teeth and mouth thoroughly to determine if an oral appliance is right for you. If it is determined that it is the best option, dental impressions will be made that will be used by the laboratory to fabricate your custom-made oral appliance. After you have been using the appliance on a regular basis, we will refer you back to your physician to determine how effective the appliance is for you. Don’t forget that regular recall visits to us will help maintain or modify your oral appliance over time.

Many medical insurance policies offer to pay for some or all of OAT if you have been diagnosed with obstructive sleep apnea. We will work with your insurance company to optimize the maximum benefits allowable for you.

Payment Options

We are happy to accept payment by cash, check, traveler’s check, and major credit cards (American Express, MasterCard, Discover, and Visa).
